What is Mozilla?

Mozilla is an open and free software community that was founded in 1988. It was established by the Mozilla Foundation, a non-profit organization that promotes open source contributions and collaboration, innovation, and creativity worldwide. The community thus supports the usage and development of Mozilla products thereby exclusively promoting free software and open standards, with minor exceptions.

The most widely known product is the Firefox browser which is available on desktops and mobiles. The browser is open source and privacy-focused. Other products of the Mozilla community include Firefox Focus, Mozilla VPN, Firefox OS and many other products which are based on the open source principle.

What do we do at the Mozilla Campus Club?

The Mozilla Campus Club of CCEW was formed with the aim of promoting the idea of open source among aspiring students and encouraging them to make the most of the opportunities that come along with it. Along with staying connected via social media platforms and running a blog on open source development, various events are organized for promoting the idea of open source among the students.

We have successfully conducted webinars with notable speakers and demonstrative sessions about platforms like GitHub. Furthermore, the club provides everyone with a platform to participate in prominent competitions like Hacktoberfest and many more.
